Brand new three-part drama Tina and Bobby starring Michelle Keegan and Lorne Macfadyen, tells the epic true story of an ordinary girl whose love for an ordinary boy led to an extraordinary life.
19- year-old Tina Dean (Keegan) married Bobby Moore (Macfadyen) for love, little knowing that their marriage would be defined by history. When England won the World Cup in July 1966, Bobby became a national hero, and Tina went from suburban housewife to a role in the spotlight as a businesswoman, star of Bisto ads, hostess of glamorous parties and envied fashionista – the WAG was born.
In the first episode, it is love at first sight when Tina Dean meets Bobby Moore, and Tina abandons her career to marry him. Although she struggles as a housewife, Bobby’s star ascends as he becomes England captain, and when Tina falls pregnant their future looks bright – until Bobby is diagnosed with testicular cancer.
Sworn to secrecy, Tina shoulders the burden of his illness alone and proves herself as his rock, and the birth of baby Roberta consolidates their bond. Bobby resumes playing, but he and Tina clash when Bobby jeopardises his World Cup prospects.
A contrite Bobby backs down, promising Tina that everything will get back to normal after the World Cup. Also starring Patsy Kensit, David Bamber, Clare Burt, Louis Hilyer, Sophie Austin and Tom Bennett.
The 3 x 60 minute drama based on Tina Moore’s memoir, Bobby Moore: By The Person Who Knew Him Best is produced by the ITV Studios drama team in Manchester overseen by Crea1ve Director Kieran Roberts who execu1ve produces Tina and Bobby.
