Versailles Season 2 Episode 2 (BBC-2 28 Apr 2017, with Tygh Runyan)

Versailles Season 2 Episode 2

In the second episode of the new season of Versaille, the King’s bad example is blamed by the Catholic clergy for the nobility’s immorality. His adultery with Madame de Montespan (Anna Brewster) troubles both his Queen (Elisa Lasowski) and zealous young Father Pascal (James Joint).

Passion-enhancing powders and potions are sweeping the palace, but their use also masks more sinister motives to secure social advancement. As incidents of poisoning increase, royal enforcer Fabien Marchal (Tygh Runyan) faces an uphill struggle to police the toxic situation.

Philippe (Alexander Vlahos) must meet his new bride, Princess Palatine (Jessica Clark), who is also confronted by sharp-tongued Chevalier (Evan Williams).

The lavish drama of infidelities and intrigues at the court of Louis XIV (George Blagden) continues.

Followed by Inside Versailles.

Versailles Season 2 Episode 2 (of 10) airs on Friday 28 April 2017 from 9.00pm-10.00pm on BBC Two.
