As historical drama Versailles about Louis XIV of France continues with it’s third episode on Friday 5 May, a cool welcome awaits Princess Palatine (Jessica Clark) in the palace salons. She gets an even colder reception in the bed of her new husband Philippe (Alexander Vlahos) after their marriage celebration.
Meanwhile, young Sophie (Maddison Jaizani) learns her destiny lies in an even crueller match, by order of King Louis (George Blagden).
Bontemps (Stuart Bowman) spots misbehaviour that suggests a new prime suspect for the poisonings to Marchal (Tygh Runyan), and a remark by medic Claudine (Lizzie Brocheré), echoing an earlier comment, clarifies the case.
