The Windsors, the satirical comedy soap opera about the royal family returns for a second six part series. Prince Charles (Harry Enfield) refuses to help Theresa May (Gillian Bevan) secure a trade deal with the Chinese. But when Camilla (Haydn Gwynne) withholds his conjugal rights, Charles agrees to host a banquet. Wills (Hugh Skinner) wants to be a hands-on Dad.
Mixing with ordinary parents, he learns what ‘River Island sale’ means, and comes to realise childcare is a nightmare. Pippa (Morgana Robinson) is preparing to marry Johnny: ‘He’s got billions, not millions’. But enraged that Kate (Louise Ford) has been made patron of Wimbledon, she puts a gypsy curse on her.
When Harry (Richard Goulding) introduces girlfriend Meghan Markle (Kathryn Drysdale) to the family, Meghan mistakes Camilla for the Queen: ‘You don’t look anything like 90.’ Will Harry have to abdicate, like Great Uncle Edward on The Crown? Beatrice (Ellie White) and Eugenie (Celeste Dring) cater the banquet in the hope Aunty Anne (Vicki Pepperdine) will let them back on the sovereign grant. Unfortunately they put Edward (Matthew Cottle) in charge of the Morris dancing.
At the banquet, Charles lectures the Chinese President in how to make his regime ‘less evil’ and Camilla has a massive catfight with Theresa May. Have they blown the trade deal?
