'lucky' winner. he show was hosted by Jack Bailey. His "Vanna White"

Hosts have been David Vine, David Coleman and currently Sue Barker. The show has a panel format with two team captains and sporting celebrities as guests. Team captains over the years team captains included Bill Beaumont, Emlyn Hughes. Current team captains are snooker player John Parrott and Scottish footballer Ali McCoist. Special: When A Question of Sport Met Match of the Day (2 Jul 2000 / Sunday 5.45pm 1x30m-e ). A one off that preceded the coverage of the Euro 2000 football final between France and Italy. READY STEADY COOK UK / BBC-Bazal / x30m-e / 1996-continuing 4.25pm Afternoon cookery challenge show in which 2 members of the public are helped by a celebrity chef to prepare a dish in 20 minutes. A spin off series emerged called Celebrity Ready Steady Cook with celebrities as the members of the public. Presented until 2000 by Fern Britton then since then by chef turned TV personality Ainsley Harriott.

Hosted by Nicholas Parsons the shows star prizes usually was a car (often a Skoda). Satellite channel Sky briefly revived the show in 1991. Sale of the Century has also been running in Australia since 1980 and has now produced some 4000+ editions, the show is produced by Grundy and shown on the Nine Network.

Season Two was retitled Scrapheap Challenge and the series made use of a knockout format competition. Cathy Rogers joined Llewellyn as Co-Presenter.
SHAFTED Australia / 9 Network / x30m-e / 2002 Quiz show broadcast weeknights at 8.30pm. Six players have to decide how much money they want to start the game with (the greediest player is then eliminated before the game begins), the remaining five then answer three rounds of questions, at the end of each round the winner "shafts" somebody off the show until only two players remain, they can choose to divide their winnings or go for the lot, however if one shafts and the other shares the shafter gets everything but if they both shaft they get nothing. Score master was comedian George Dawes (who appeared as a drum playing baby). The 2002 series was seen first on digital tv channel BBC Choice before being seen on BBC2.
SINGLED OUT USA / MTV / x30m-e / 1995-97 Dating game show with one woman choosing from one of fifty men she hadn't seen but who matched answers to her questions, then the situation was reversed with the man choosing a woman by the same process. Hosted by former Playboy playmate Jenny McCarthy (later replaced by Carmen Electra) and Chris Hardwick.

SPACE CADETS UK / Channel 4 / 10x30m-e / 1997 Quiz show about science fiction in the style of Have I Got News For You etc with host Greg Proops and team captains Craig Charles and Bill Bailey getting into their parts by appearing in costume. Star guests included William Shatner, Paul Darrow, Walter Koenig, Claudia Christian, Armin Shimmerman and Sylvester McCoy.

The studio audience attempt to win a fantastic holiday by trying to guess correctly which way various crazy stunts and games will pan out. The show, presented by Gaby Roslin, was similar in concept to LiveTV no budget cable show Life's A Punt.

SPOT THE TUNE UK / Granada / 209x30m-e / 1956-62 Quiz in which the contestants had to guess the title of a song after hearing only a small sample of it, usually sung by Marion Ryan accompanied by the Peter Knight Orchestra. Ken Platt, Ted Ray, Jackie Rae and Desmond O'Connor were all hosts during the shows run.

A pair of specials Beachmate(20 Oct 1999 Wed 9.30pm) and Skimate (22 Dec Wed 9.30pm) saw Davina travels to Mykonos in Greece and Courcheval in the French Alps. There was also a highlights package (Best of Streetmate) broadcast 21 Jan 2000 Friday 11.40pm and a Carribean mate special on 4 August 2000. Presenter from the 2001 season was Tania Strecker.
STRIKE IT LUCKY UK / London Weekend Television-Grundy / x30m-e / 1986-continuing Executive Producer: Robert Louis Long running quiz hosted by the manic Michael Barrymore, three teams of two answered various multiple choice questions to try and win through to the big money end game. As from 12 December 1996 the show was retitled Strike It Rich (with bigger money prizes and sparklier lights).
SUPERCHEFS UK / Carlton Food Network / x30m-e / 1999 Cookery game show with 40 top chefs competing against each other in a knockout competition presided over by Penny Smith, with celebrity guests, food critics and the studio audience acting as judges.
UK / ITV / x30m-e / 1990's - continuing Daytime quiz (initially 9.25am weekday mornings before latterly moving to a mid afternoon slot) giving contestants the chance to go 'wild in the aisles'. Presented by Dale Winton three teams of two compete in various general knowledge rounds and take part in a trolley dash to try and win a cash prize in the end game. The set was mocked up to look like an actual Supermarket. The series has been latterly known as Dale's Supermarket Sweep.
SUPERSTARS UK / BBC1 / x50m-e / 1970's -early 80's Various sporting 'superstars' compete against each other in various events, such as circuit training, cycling, penalty shoot outs and the like. Most well known sportsmen of the era appeared (Kevin Keegan, Gareth Edwards etc) but Judo star Brian Jacks seemed to win most years and could go on doing squat thrusts and the like for what seemed like days on end.
USA / CBS / x60m-e / 2000-continuing Creator: Charlie Parsons Game show. 16 Contestants (split into two sets of eight) are cast adrift on the South Pacific island of Pulau Tiga, each week one of the contestants is voted. Prize money for the last one standing was one million dollars. Final four were Richard, Rudy, Kelly and Susan and the eventual winner was the self confessed schemer Richard Hatch. The show (which actually originated in Sweden) is up to season four in the US and has spawned a host of versions seen in other countries including the UK and and Australia.

One of the rounds involved each team being asked questions (after first being allowed to research it) on the other team's specialist subject. As the game progressed players could end up being eliminated or sacrificed for points. The winners of season one were The Co-Horts.
