Wonder Twins, Powers Activate!!

Growing out of the ashes of the original Superfriends, The All New Superfriends pulls together Superman, Batman & Robin, Wonderwoman, The Green Lantern and Aquaman with two new members The Wonder Twins aka Zana and Jayna (and not forgetting their mischievous chimp Glip) and this brilliant new two disc set offers up 32 complete stories featuring the gang tackling all manner of evil villains.

What is especially cool is that despite being over 30 years old the episodes have lost none of their power to enchant and entertain, in fact my five year old son is now quite possibly the shows biggest fan. The animation also has that classic DC comics look to it for added authenticity.

Each hour longish episode features four complete stories, each offering a chance in the spotlight for the various heroes. One of the real highlights is the portentous voice over by Bill Woodeson, who makes every moment sound like the most important thing to have ever happened and actually in the world of superfriends that is pretty much true.

A wonderfully nostalgic and still hugely watchable slice of animation.
