Grafters is a hugely entertaining comedy drama series from the late 1990's. Made at a time when Robson Green was the biggest star on TV. This four disc set from Time Life features every episode from both seasons of the show and the series itself follows Geordie (ie from Newcastle) brothers Joe and Trevor Purvis as they try to make a success of their house renovating business in London.
As the series opens Joe (Green), who is a real womanising Jack the Lad, has just scored a major build down in the smoke, restoring a run down Victorian house for well off yuppies Paul and Laura (Neil Stuke and Emily Joyce); He has, somewhat reluctantly, taken his out of work brother Trevor into the business with him. Unfortunately Trevor doesn't know a great deal about building. The duo, more by good luck than management, manage to make a go of the business and in the second season up the ante somewhat by taking on a majorly over ambitious project turning an old school into a block of luxury apartments.
Joe, all leather jackets and jewellry, also get serious about a relationship in this second season too in the shape of Viv Casey (played by the sexy Lesley Vicarage).
One of the best series about the building game since Auf Weidersehen Pet, Green fans will love it of course but so will any fan of clever British comedy drama.
