THE ISLANDS by DI MORRISSEY

Published by Pan MacMillan on 28 November 2008

Over the last few years, Di Morrissey has, quite rightly, become Australia's Queen of the mystery romance and in her latest - The Islands. she transports us to the Hawaiian Islands right in the middle of the permissive seventies.

Australian country girl Catherine Moreland is on her very first trip overseas when she is totally swept off her feet by American naval officer Bradley, who having proposed to her, takes her to live amongst the islands of Hawaii. Caught up in the romance of her new marriage and idyllicness of island life, Catherine is convinved that life couldn't possibly get better - immersing herself in the folklore of the islands Catherine discovers a mystery man of the sea. An experience that is destined to change her life forever.

Morrissey's deceptively simple style hooks you right into the story, the setting ranges from the 1970's, when Catherine has no cares and a go with the flow attitude up to the present day where, without revealing too much, she comes to realise that life is made up in the journey we take. A nice touch is the excerpts from the book of The Waterman, whose story is intrinsic to the heart of the novel.,

A natural storyteller, it's easy to see why Di Morrissey books are so popular and this one is sure to captivate her growing legion of fans.
