YOU'RE A GOOD SPORT CHARLIE BROWN

Warner Home Video / Released 27 January 2009

Another classic Peanuts story is given the remastered and never looked better treatment by Warner, this time out it is You're A Good Sport, Charlie Brown which won an Emmy for Outstanding Children's Special. Made in 1975 it sees the gang coming over all sporty, first up Linus is on a date with Sally, but their tennis fun is somewhat spoiled by her attitude, Snoopy meanwhile is too busy having a tantrum and throwing his racquet around.

Meanwhile Charlie Brown is getting very into motocross and decides to enter a big competition (along with several others of the gang) and in best wacky races fashion manages to knock out a certain dog known as The Masked Marvel and losing his crash helmet in the process, can his new helmet, carved out of a pumpkin by Linus

A wonderful story with a nice sting in the tale. As usual the dvd also includes an extra episode, this time out it is You're The Greatest, Charlie Brown from 1979 which focuses on the gang getting involved in the junior olympics, there is also a great little featurette featuring Craig Schulz (son of CB creator Charlie) about how his love of motocross inspired the original cartoon strip.

All in all, a great slice of fun.
