LINKSSILENT WITNESS - JUDGEMENT (A 2 PART STORY)
The final two part story of this season of Silent Witness, Judgement, airs on BBC One over two consecutive nights this week, showing Wednesday and Thursday @ 9.00pm. The team find themselves in the heart of the Hasidic community following the discovery of a male body on a patch of wasteground.Because of the closed community aspect Leo persuades Harry that a dry post portem (based on scans and external examination only) is the way to go and the pair discover that the victim, Yitshok, was the victim of a major beating.
Further investigation reveals links to some Polish labourers but it seems that Yitshok's family, particularly his wife, may be hiding something about the time he went missing. Harry discovers that Yitshok may have been homosexual, something deeply frowned upon in his community and his family are desperate to keep it under wraps.
Nikki delves deeper into the case and discovers that cells belonging to Yitshok's attacker (and found on the body) are actually contaminated with a disease called Gaucher Syndrome, a rare disease which in general affects mostly Jewish groups - which just could rule out the Polish angle.
Things really get complex when a second body is found and events within the community threaten to spill over into boiling point.
