The Adventures of Brisco County Jr

USA / Warner/Boam-Cuse / 1x100m-e 24x60m-e / 1993-94

Creator/Executive Producers: Jeffrey Boam, Carlton Cuse  / Music: Randy Edelman

This 1990's show was a mix of classic western adventure and scifi fantasy in that in 1893 Brisco County Jr is a lawyer turned bounty hunter. Brisco spent much of his time attempting to track down the evil John Bly and his gang who had been behind the murder of Brisco's father (who would often appear to Brisco in ghostly form). On his bounty hunting missions Brisco was most often teamed with (or really at loggerheads with) the burly black Lord Bowler. Other regulars included Brisco's sometime girlfriend Dixie Cousins, lawyer Socrates Poole and nutty inventor Professor Albert Wickwire.
The scifi theme came into play when Brisco discovered a strange golden orb that John Bly was deadly keen to get his hands on, midway through the one season show Brisco discovered that Bly was actually from the future (2506 in fact) and needed the orb as part of his plan to rule the world back in his own time. Brisco put a stop to his plans by joining forces with Carina, another time traveler, this time from the year 5502.
At the series conclusion Brisco and Lord Bowler had teamed up to become special agents working exclusively for President Cleveland.
