The Block All Stars 2013: Mark Bowyer Forced To Leave Show Due To Suspected Heart Attack
The Block All Stars 2013 has seen a highly stressful few weeks for all four couples on the show but Mark Bowyer has found it especially tough at times, his wife has been suffering cancer, now in remission thankfully and a seemingly non stop work schedule that leaves very little time for sleep and rest.
Tonight’s episode (day 45 of the build) saw Mark start to feel ill and complain of chest pains. Rushed to hospital with a suspected heart attack and leaving the rest of the teams in a state of shock, Mark and his family made the very difficult decision to withdraw from the show leaving partner Duncan Miller to carry on alone.
Interestingly show host and builder Scott Cam will be helping out Duncan where it’s needed as will Duncan’s wife Jenny.
Producers on the show are hopeful that Mark will be able to return before the end of the show.
Addendum: All of this happened back in December of course and the good news is Mark is on the mend, during tests at the hospital doctors discovered a previously undiagnosed condition which meant he just couldn’t work on the show any longer although Mark actually now credits the show with saving his life!
