Sitcom Further Adventures Of Lucky Jim was a return to the world of Jim Dixon (he of Lucky Jim) and the second attempt by series creators Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais to turn the format into a sitcom. Back in 1967 the pair had produced a seven part series for BBC Two and this version, also running for 7 episodes also stuck to the 1960’s for it’s setting.
Enn Reitel starred as Jim and when the series began he had been working in Holland but decided to try his luck in Swinging London. He initially finds a job in publishing, later moving on to work for a film company. Although he achieves some material success, Jim fails in his ambition to to get himself fully involved in the “permissive society”.
A planned second season never emerged because Clement and La Frenais had decided to try their hand in the states.
