Auf Wiedersehen Pet: Another Country (ITV 14 Mar 1986)

In Another Country the boys have been forced off the site for a few days until they receive permission to continue building, Wayne is keen on chatting up Arthur Pringle’s glamorous daughter but gets off to a bad start; Dennis is caught up in meetings with the architect and a visit from his sister Norma, whilst Neville picks up a job on the side for a local landowner. Moxy has headed off to London to pick up some fake work documents. As usual though things don’t go as planned for the seven, especially when Oz and Barry get caught poaching and Wayne manages to get all the group evicted from the Barley Mow after Arthur finds him in bed with his daughter.

The class divide makes itself felt in this episode, the boys are harrassed on all sides from the well to do members of the village. Wayne getting them kicked out of the Barley Mow for seeing Pringle’s daughter (played by Catherine Rabett) is a great way of recreating the squalor of the Dusseldorf building site.
