Cancelled: A&E’s Breakout Kings

Posted May 19, 2012 by MemTV in TV

A&E have cancelled the rather excellent Breakout Kings after just two seasons. According to THR the news was broken by cast member  Malcolm Goodwin, who played Shea on the series, via Twitter.

The hourlong drama series from co-creators Nick Santora and Matt Olmstead wrapped up its 10-episode sophomore season on April 29.

The series debuted to 2.8 million viewers in March 2011, but by the time the two-hour season two finale aired, Breakout Kings had shed more than half its viewership. Season two began with the shocking death of a major character, Charlie (Laz Alonso).

The series was originally going to be seen on Fox (like previous Santora and Olmstead creation Prison Break) but ended up on A&E after the network pulled out.
