Cold Warrior (BBC-1 1984, Michael Denison, Lucy Fleming)

After appearing in two six part serials, Blood Money and Skorpion, Captain Percival gets his own fully fledged series in Cold Warrior.

Over the course of eight episodes, bowler hat wearing and brolly brandishing Percival uses brain rather than brawn to bring evil doers to justice.

More story of the week than serial episodes were written by Murray Smith and John Brason as well as one by Arden Winch and one by David Reid.

Guest stars included Michael Denison’s real life wife Dulcie Gray (in final episode Hook, Line and Sinker), Neil Stacy, Philip Bond, Julian Fellowes, Stephen Grief, Tracey Childs and David Dixon.
