Cuffy (ITV 1983, Bernard Cribbins, Jack Douglas)

Cuffy

Sitcom Cuffy was a spin off from comedy drama series The Shillingbury Tales which had aired a couple of years before. The series follows the misadventures of the ageing Cuffy, who lives in a dilapidated old caravan and does odd jobs around the village of Shillingbury.

The series featured most of the cast from the Shillingbury series, including landowner Jake (Jack Douglas), his daughter Mandy (Linda Hayden), Rex Norris (Nigel Lambert) and Mrs Simkins (Diana King), with the exception of stars Robin Nedwell and Diane Keen. It had the same shot on film glossy feel but with a bigger emphasis on slapstick and out and out humour.
