Popular sitcom The Dickie Henderson Show took the American model of sitcom as it’s basis as it detailed episodes in the domestic life of comedian Dickie Henderson.
There was quite a gap between the 8th season in 1965 and the ninth that began in 1967 (although most of the season nine episodes had actually been filmed many months earlier). Dickie also got himself a much younger wife in the final season with Isla Blair replacing June Laverick (who had decided to retire from show business).
