Dossa And Joe (BBC-2 2002, Anne Charleston, Michael Caton)
Comedy drama about a married working class couple in Australia. Dossa, born in Ireland, and typical Aussie Joe, are facing up to life now that Joe is newly retired.
Something of an interesting series for the BBC, it was Caroline Aherne’s follow up to the massively successful Royle Family. Feeling under pressure Aherne had relocated to Australia and having written the sitcom there decided to film it there too.
Anne Charleston is probably best known for her role as Madge in Neighbours whilst Caton is known as both an actor (The Castle) and as a presenter of lifestyle TV shows.
