Foxy Lady (ITV 1982-1984, Diane Keen, Geoffrey Burridge)

Foxy Lady

In period sitcom Foxy Lady it’s 1959 and Daisy Jackson (Diane Keen) is a young woman with no experience of running a newspaper but is thrown at the deep end she suddenly finds herself being appointed as editor of failing local weekly paper “The Ramsden Reminder”.

The previous editor had just died, leaving the paper on the verge of bankruptcy and Daisy is determined to restore its fortunes.

Needless to say she encounters some resistance from the staff, who include production manager J P Schofield (Patrick Troughton), arts editor Tancred Taylour (Alan David) and sports editor Ben Marsh (Milton Johns)

Other characters include the accountant, Joe Prince (Geoffrey Burridge) and print room apprentice Owen Buckley (Steven Pinder).
