Gazette: It’s All Happening (ITV 23 Aug 1968, with Reginald Marsh)

In It’s All Happening Councillor Mullins, Chairman of the Highway Committee approaches James at his club and tells him he would appreciate the paper keeping quiet over a new bypass planned for Westdale. Of course this is like a red rag to a bull to Hadleigh.

Meanwhile Walters and Spence have been trying to dig up info on the deal for some time. They discover that the bypass will affect several streets that would need to be compulsory purchased. Walters intends to publish the story but Mullins wants him to wait until the route is approved. Classic Walters pose.

Meanwhile Sue is in trouble with Hadleigh over what he considers bribery over her interview (and freebies) with beauty salon owner Madame Le Lange.

Hadleigh and Walters are getting a decent working relationship, James is always pushing his editor to take a risk on the story.
