Genius (NGC 2017, Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson)

Genius Geoffrey Rush

The premiere season of Genius focuses on scientist Albert Einstein and is based on Walter Isaacson’s critically acclaimed book “Einstein: His Life and Universe,” adapted by writer Noah Pink.

The series uncovers how an imaginative, rebellious patent clerk named Albert Einstein – a struggling father in a difficult marriage who couldn’t get a teaching job or a doctorate – unlocked the mysteries of the atom and the universe. Each episode will explore the iconoclast behind these extraordinary scientific achievements, including his political activism, family life and volatile and complex personal relationships.

From National Geographic Channel’s press release, April 2017… Season one of the scripted anthology series Genius focused on the life of the 20th century icon Albert Einstein. The global event series explores both the brilliant scientist’s professional achievements and the complex untold narrative of his personal life. And now, the global anthology series has been officially renewed for a second season, with the season two genius set to be unveiled in the season one finale on June 20.
