Gert And Daisy (ITV 1959, Elsie Waters, Doris Waters)

Sitcom about a pair of ex-theatricals who open a boarding house catering to the people from the world of showbusiness. Gert and Daisy, the sisters of popular actor Jack Warner, had a long career in showbusiness, mostly on the stage and radio. They were in the twilight of their career by this stage and the series was written especially for them by Ted Willis who was also heavily involved with their brother’s hit show Dixon of Dock Green.

Writers included Malcolm A Hulke, Eric Paice, Lew Schwarz and Willis himself.
