In this three part crime thriller Brian Cox stars as General Grushko the tough-minded Head of the Mafia Investigation Division of the St. Petersburg police. He struggles with the mafia, the murder of a popular TV journalist and a Mafioso informer that threatens to add open gang warfare to his problems. With scant resources and little respect from a cynical public, Grushko tries to track down murderers and uncovers a criminal gang dealing in nuclear-contaminated meat.
