New Scotland Yard: Death By Misadventure (ITV 27 Apr 1974, Michael Elphick)

In Death By Misadventure Dexter and Clay investigate a series of burglaries where all that is taken is various small pieces of Chinese porcelain. The case takes a turn for the deathly when a burglar is found dead in the conservatory of music promoter Joss Adrian. It quickly becomes apparent that Adrian may not be telling the police everything he knows.

Second appearance on the show for Michael Elphick, previously seen in season three episode Weight of Evidence as a bank robber – here he is very with it, sunglasses wearing indoors Adrian.

Clive Francis was featured in the TV Times tying in with this episode. It mainly concentrated on how he was going to avoid being typecast – something that happened to his father Raymond Francis who played Chief Supt Lockhart in long running series No Hiding Place. You can tell Michael Elphick’s Joss Adrian is cool – he’s wearing sunglasses indoors!
