Royle Family, The (BBC-2 1998-2010, Caroline Aherne, Sue Johnston)

Sitcom. The Royle family, living in a flat in Manchester, like nothing better than spending their time bickering and watching TV. Made by ITV based Granada TV the show was first seen on BBC2 gaining great popularity it then switched to BBC1 from season two.

One of the UK’s most popular shows winning numerous awards with Aherne and Cash who wisely called it quits after three seasons. The show was then revived in 2006 for an hour long special, this would be followed by further hour long specials in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
