Sam Saturday (ITV 1992, Ivan Kaye, Doreen Mantle)

In Sam Saturday Detective Inspector Sam Sterne work the mean streets of London but has more than a few problems at home. He’s a divorcee who has his mother living with him – a fact that seems to be making it very difficult for him to establish any new romantic relationships.

Created by Alvin Rakoff Sam Saturday was perhaps a little too quirky for it’s own good and lasted for just the one short series season of six episodes.
