Star Quality: What Mad Pursuit (BBC-1 1985 with Carroll Baker and Paul Daneman)

UK / BBC One – Quintet Films – A&E Network / 1×55 minute episode / Broadcast 24 November 1985

Writer: Stanley Price / Based on the play Long Island Sound by Noel Coward / Script Editor: Alan Drury / Production Design: Cecilia Brereton / Musical Director: Tony Britten / Costumes: Juanita Waterson / Executive Producer: Victor Glynn / Producer: Alan Shallcross / Director: Tony Smith

Series: Star Quality / Episode 3 of 6

In this period comedy drama English novelist Evan Lorrimer is on tour of America and struggling to cope with the over bearing ways of his American hosts.

Probably the weakest of the six Star Quality productions but still a production of strong performances, Paul Daneman is excellent as the increasingly weary author whilst there are also roles for a young Haydn Gwynne and the always watchable Jacqueline Pearce. Carroll Baker gets top billing though.
