Teen Wolf (MTV 2011-2017, Tyler Posey, Crystal Reed)

Fantasy supernatural teen drama series Teen Wolf is a re-imagining of the “classic” Michael J. Fox movie of the mid 1980’s but with a more angst ridden, teen-drama-esque drive tapping into the Twilight/True Blood vibe. The basic plot remains the same, teenager Scott McCall is bitten by a werewolf and founds that he has gained some quite extra ordinary powers and of course he is now also a werewolf himself.

Always something of an outsider Scott now finds it even more difficult to maintain a normal life and keep his new “talents” hidden. Luckily his best friend Stiles shares his secret and he is also able to confide in Derek Hale who also happens to be a werewolf and is on a quest to find his missing sister. Meanwhile Scott’s girlfriend Allison also knows nothing about his abilities even if Lacrosse captain Jackson is determined to find out where Scott’s new found skills in the game come from.

It’s not the first time Teen Wolf (which had a strong emphasis on comedy) has found it’s way to the small screen as there was an animated version that aired in 1987. This is a very different kettle of fish though with a heavy slant towards drama and romance.

From MTV’s press release, July 2017… MTV today announced that “Teen Wolf” will premiere on a new night beginning Sunday, July 30 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Additionally, the show is returning to the Con, having landed a coveted Hall H panel on Thursday, July 20th at 2:00 p.m. ET/PT. “Teen Wolf” sits as the number one television series in the Comic-Con social sphere for the past two years. The 6,000-person hall will see Tyler Posey, Dylan Sprayberry, Shelley Hennig, Cody Christian, Khylin Rhambo and executive producer Jeff Davis take the stage, with a few surprises in tow and offer fans an exclusive, extended sneak peek of the highly-anticipated final season. On Friday, July 21 the “Teen Wolf” cast will hit the convention center floor for a signing with fans, at Fox Booth #4229. MTV will also be on-the-ground with the “MTV Fandom Fest” interactive experience on Friday, July 21st at Petco Park hosted by Tyler Posey. The final ten episodes of “Teen Wolf” find Scott and his pack on the eve of their departure for college, as they discover a new enemy rising in the shadows, which threatens the fate of everything they hold dear.
