All Together Now (Channel 9 1991-1993, Jon English. Rebecca Gibney)

Published

on

Sitcom All Together Now starred rock star Jon English playing to type as fading rock star Bobby Rivers who has life shaken up with the arrival of his fifteen year old twin children, the pair along with their guardian Tracey Lawson, move in with him after the death of their mother. Bobby had been completely oblivious to the existance of the pair and there is a realy clash of attitudes and generations as the new dynamic tries to work together.

The show was to have been originally called Rhythm and Blues but the network thought that sounded too much like a music show!  Kerry Armstrong was amongst the cast members for a few episodes during 1992 and a young Marieke Hardy apparently contributed some scripts towards the end of the shows run.

Australian Gangster (Channel 7 2018)

Published

Channel 7

Australian Gangster is a crime drama that will have a distinctly modern vibe. No real plot details have been released as yet but it’s being talked of a grand tale of crime in Western Sydney where glitz and glamour vie with drugs and laundered money. The behind the scenes crew have impressive pedigrees – it’s been written by Gregor Jordan (of Two Hands fame) and Romper Stomper author Malcolm Knox.

Producer John Edwards said “Just as Two Hands was an oblique take on a familiar form a generation ago, Australian Gangster will be a genre-bending crime drama series – confronting, affronting, touching and often laugh-out-loud crazy.”

Filming will begin early next year in and around Sydney.
