Period drama series. Set in 1930s London and centred around the Midnight Bell pub. Barman Bob falls in love with a young prostitute called Jenny who seems to agrees to anything he wants with regard their future but always lets him down, bleeding his bank balance dry in the process; and less-attractive Ella who also works at the pub and has a secret longing for Bob.

The story is told from the perspectives of these three main characters in turn in the three episodes.
