| Following the Top 40 success of their debut single
I Will Wait For You, Tiny Dancers will release their debut album on June 11th. Recorded at Sawmills studio in Cornwall,
Free School Milk was produced by John Leckie (The Stone Roses, Radiohead, Muse).
From its inspired title to the flair, imagination and musicianship displayed within,
Free School Milk is a dazzlingly good debut, hugely ambitious in scope. There’s heartbreaking, epic tracks
(Ashes And Diamonds, Moon Song No.2), riotously catchy country-rockers
(I Will Wait For You, Sun Goes Down, I’ve Got To Go), and pure power-pop nuggets (new single
Hannah We Know, Baby Love).
Holding everything together is the richly expressive voice of David Kay, Tiny
Dancers charismatic blonde frontman.
Tiny Dancers (the name is not taken from the Elton John song, but simply because the words felt right) formed in early 2005 in Sheffield, though the five band members are originally from the small mining towns of South
Kirkby, South Elmsley and Brierley in West Yorkshire. David, Ev, Glover, Zed and Dez all met at school, where, incidentally, they never got any free milk. As Education Secretary Margaret Thatcher infamously abolished free school milk for schoolchildren in 1971, long before any of the band were born. |
