Newspaper
columnist Tex McCrary and his
actress wvife Jinx Falkenburg
were frequently seen during the
early days of television, both
in guest appearances and as
hosts of their own
celebrity-interview series.
First
seen on NBC, they later moved to
CBS, where their program was
billed as Preview,
"the living television
magazine." In addition to
these primetime appearances they
hosted The
Swift Home Service Club (l947-1948),
which NBC says was the first
sponsored network daytime
program, an NBC radio series and
various local programs in New
York. Later, in the 1950s, they
returned to daytime television.
Their primetime programs were
variously known as At Home with
Tex and Jinx, The Tex and Jinx Film,
and Preview with Tex and Jinx
in addition to Tex and Jinx.
