Controversial sketch series with Chris Morris perfecting the style he first showed on The Day Today with this show very much in that style with fake news items well to the fore including getting a Tory MP (along with Noel Edmonds) to condemn fictional new drug Cake. Morri’s next sketch series Jam seemed to dispense with normal conventions of humour altogether. in 2001 there was a special episode which lampooned the media’s treatment of paedophilia issues – certain celebrities took part believing they were taking part in a serious documentary and it stirred a lot of controversy.
