Dr Finlay (ITV 1993-1996, David Rintoul, Ian Bannen)
Medical drama series Doctor Finlay was an updated version of the much loved sixties version. This took the story up after world war II with Dr John Finlay back in Tannochbrae and determined to bring the practice in line with the new national health service.
It’s 1946, and Dr John Finlay’s return to civilian life is not what he expected. His fiancée hasn’t waited for him, and even the arrangements of the new medical practice are overturned as the housekeeper is wooed by a local chemist. Dr Finlay finds himself on an unforgettable journey of healing, humanity and hope.
