Grass was a spin-off from The Fast Show with the main character of Billy Bleach making regular appearances on that show as a pub bore. Here he finds himself turning supergrass when he agrees to give evidence for the prosecution after a gangland murder.

He’s ends up being relocated to rural Norfolk as part of a witness protection scheme. Like his appearances on The Fast Show Billy thinks he knows everything about everything and likes to let people know about. However most of what Bleach comes out with is made up rubbish.

Keeping an eye on Bleach is PC Harriet, DI Veal and DCI Maddox.

Originally screened on digital channel BBC Three Grass was given a terrestrial rerun from 17 January to 6 March 2004.
