Here’s Harry (BBC-1 1960-1965, Harry Worth, Vi Stevens)
Archetypal Harry Worth sitcom Here’s Harry pretty much set in stone the format for all subsequent Harry Worth material. The series detailed the misadventures of bumbling trilby hatted ditherer Harry who lived in the town of Woodbridge (52 Acacia Avenue to be exact) and manahed to cause chaos where ever he went.
The series featured very well remembered opening title sequence with Harry wandering down Woodbridge High Street, stopping in a shop window and using his reflection to create the illusion of a star jump.
There was a short special broadcast as part of Christmas Night With The Stars on 25 December 1960.
Writers on the series included Eddie Maguire, Vince Powell and Harry Driver.
