Hotel Imperial (ITV 1958-1960, Vic Oliver, Brian Oulton)
Sitcom detailing the exploits of the staff and guests of London Hotel, the Imperial as seen from the point of view of the Hotel Orchestra’s conductor Monsieur Victor.
In each episode Monsieur Victor recounted a tale to a journalist who is “ghost writing” his autobiography.
Regular staff at the hotel included the manager, Mr Hay, the assistant manager, Mr Griffiths and the head receptionist, Mr Pettigrew.
Lots of well known faces popped up as guests at the hotel including the likes of June Laverick, Elisabeth Welch, Richard Goolden, Bonar Colleano, Diana Decker, Evelyn Kaye, Donald Pleasence, Raymond Francis, Francis Matthews, John Barron, Bill Owen, Jean Kent and Betty Marsden.
