Paranoid (ITV 2016, Robert Glenister, Lesley Sharp)
In Paranoid a vicious murder takes place in full view of a group of children and parents playing at a park. The police investigate and it looks like a known man with psychiatric struggles is behind the death. He then turns up dead but was it suicide?
The cops investigating the murder have their own issues, Nina Suresh is having relationship troubles, Bobby Day is suffering panic attacks and struggling with depression and Alec Wayfield is the new boy finding it hard to stake his place in the team.
Meanwhile perfect witness Lucy Cannonbury might have something to hide.
Paranoid had us hooked within the first five minutes. Wonderful playing from the ensemble cast and the dialogue was excellent. It’s also clear this is no ordinary murder mystery, especially when the cops start receiving cryptic notes from the “Ghost Detective”.
