Long running anthology series of one of plays of all kinds. The productions ranged across the classics up to brand new for TV productions. There were no real seasons each year until the late 70’s when there would then be a proper concerted run of epiosdes.

ITV also had a long running Umbrella strand called Playhouse which ran from 1967 – 1983 and between 1978 and 1985 the BBC also had a children’s strand known as Playhouse.
