In this opening episode of the anthology series Shadows of Fear couple Peter and Moira Astle find that their house has been broken into whilst they were out celebrating their wedding anniversary.

Peter is unable to let the the theft go and is determined to make sure it doesn’t happen again…

Writer Roger Marshall based the script on an incident from his own life. This episode was clearly testing the waters for a complete series run – it was another seven months before the rest of the Shadows of Fear episodes aired.
