Strathblair was a period drama series that took us back to the 1950s. With his military service duties over Major Andrew Menzies returns home in the early 1950’s to his ancestral home of Strathblair and is soon locking horns with his father Sir James, the laird. Andrew has created problems by promising one of the farms on the estate, Craigiebeg, to one of his army men, Alec Ritchie and his wife Jennifer.

Despite not being locals Alec and Jennifer are determined to fit in and make a new life for themselves even if others in the neighbourhood are keen to see them fail.

The first season ended with Andrew being drafted back into service and heading off to Korea and Craigiebeg burning down. Season two opened with Alec and Jennifer living in a caravan but still determined to make things work and Andrew back from the army and keen to make inroads in politics.

The picturesque village of Blair Atholl and surrounds was the setting for the series.
