Very popular sketch series filled with memorable characters and catchphrases (‘Suit You Sir’ , ‘Bugger’ and ‘Scorchio’ are just a few of the many catchphrases. Classic characters included Unlucky Alf, Rowley Birkin QC, Ted and Ralph, Monkfish, Chip Cobb the Deaf Stuntman, Swiss Toni and many many more.
The cast was headed by Paul Whitehouse and Charlie Higson (who had come to prominence working with Harry Enfield on his sketch shows) and also included John Thomson, Mark Williams, Arabella Weir, Simon Day and Caroline Aherne. The show is known as Brilliant in the USA.
There was a Fast Show theme night broadcast on BBC2 11 September 1999 Saturday 9.00pm / This lasted two hours and consisted of three shows (the first ever Fast Show episode, a documentary called Suit Your Sir! The Inside Leg of the Fast Show and a compilation of previously unseen clips called You Ain’t Seen These, Right). A 90 minute special was also broadcast 1 January 2002 at 9.00pm called I Love the 100 Best Top 10 Lists of the Fast Show.
SPECIAL:- THE LAST FAST SHOW EVER (BBC2 / 3x40m-e / 2000 26 – 28 December ) This was a 3 part special featuring all the regular characters and a special appearance by Hollywood actor Johnny Depp (apparently a big fan of the show in real life).
