Hugh Bonneville narrates the documentary series The Cruise: Sailing The Mediterranean, following life on board for the crew of 1,400 on the liner Royal Princess.
In episode four, which airs on Thursday 2 February at 8.30pm on ITV, the ship is heading for the medieval port of Kotor in Montenegro. Executive chef David is facing a staffing crisis which is putting the ship’s galley under severe pressure. He and the team must prepare a range of speciality dining services, but being 17 staff members short, it is touch and go.
On-board magicians Johnny and Trisha Hawley (pictured above) have decided to revamp their show with a daring and dangerous new headline trick. The illusion begins with Trisha bound in chains in a plastic bag in a locked box and climaxes with a split-second swap of places with her co-star. But rehearsals soon bring marital tensions to boiling point. There is a crucial moment for new officer on the bridge Lauren, who must prove she has what it takes to drive one of the ship’s tender boats.
After a successful docking, she finally gets to wear her stripes with pride. Rivalry among the guests surfaces as Pat and Brian Morell from Essex have a nervous wait to find out if they will retain their crown as the ship’s ‘most travelled passengers’ for the fourth week.
