In Being Human a trio of friends in their twenties share a house together in Boston, the difference being is that Aidan is a Vampire, Josh is a werewolf and Sally is a ghost! Aidan has been a vampire since the days of the American Revolution but these days works as a nurse at Suffolk County Hospital where Josh also works as an orderly. Sally meanwhile haunts the house where they all live having been engaged to the owner before her death.

Meanwhile fellow vampire James Bishop is cop for the Boston PD but has been a vampire for centuries and was responsible for Aidan becoming one too. Other major characters include an old flame of Aidan’s called Rebecca who is also a vampire, Sally’s ex Danny, Josh’s lesbian sister Emily and Josh’s girlfriend Nora.

In a nod to the original UK series the lead character is called Aidan after Aidan Turner who plays vampire John Mitchell in the original series. Apparently the producers have avoided watching too much of the UK show so that they can stamp their own identity on this, which is probably the best way to go in terms of watchability. It has been renewed for a second season and one of the main story arcs will involve the arrival an ancient vampire called Izumi who arrives in town with trouble on her mind.
