Crime drama series Rookie Blue follows a quintet of new to the force cops with plenty of emphasis on their personal lives too. Working out of Division 15 the rookies have just seven months experience on the beat so far but are already finding their feet. Andy McNally is trying to step out from the shadows of her fathers own police career whilst Dov Epstein thinks he is untouchable. Traci Nash is a parent who is finding that running a home and being a cop is no easy task.

Meanwhile Chris Diaz is determined to stick to the rules no matter what and Gail Peck wants to perform on merit and break free of the family connections she is sure got her where she is today.

Strong ensemble playing lifts Rookie Blue into a higher level, the format harks back a bit to 1980′s series like Hill Street Blues. Rookie Blue started as a mid season replacement but performed well enough to gurantee a second season.
