Medical drama. This soap
styled drama concerned itself with the lives of three LA doctors, Roger
Cattan, Tim Lonner and Evan Newman, who set up their own private practice
with the motivating factor of helping people rather than lining their
pockets. Cattan however was often at odds with his partners over just how
altruistic they should be. A fourth member of the team was quickly recruited
in the shape of Sarah Church (Sarah had a problematic life in the show; a
failing marriage and then the discovery she was pregnant, later she began an
affair with Evan but a tragic end lay in store for her in the final episode
– death in a car accident). The biggest development in later
episodes of the show was the guys being embezzled by their business manager.

Cases if the attorneys at Los Angeles law firm
McKenzie, Brackman, Chaney and Kuzak. The large ensemble cast were each given
plenty of screen time and the show devoted as much time to the lawyer's personal
lives as it did to their professional ones. Over the years cast members came and
went with alarming regularity with several leaving to set up practice on their
own (including Abby Perkins and Michael Kuzack). Intriguingly two characters
from the show Civil Wars crossed over

Top late night chat show host Larry Sanders seems
the perfect host but off screen has plenty of problems.
The series mixed semi-real type chat moments which
featured most of Hollywood at some point or other, with
behind the scenes stuff. The show used an effective
mixture of film for the behind the scenes stuff and
videotape for the chat stuff.

– fall 1974
Family drama series.
Unflappable and incredibly loyal and brave female collie dog Lassie who
despite several changes in master always managed to be the hero of the hour.
The show was long running and underwent many cast and plot changes,
initially Lassie belonged to Jeff Miller but in 1957 his mother sold the
farm following the death of his grandfather (actor George Cleveland having
died in real life) and the Martin family became the new owners of Lassie, in
1964 the Martin’s decided to emigrate to Australia leaving Lassie behind
of course, elderly Cully Wilson looked after him for a while but following
his death Lassie was taken in by ranger Corey Stuart, later in 1968 two new
rangers were brought in Corey Stuart and Scott Turner but the producers were
moving Lassie into more of an independent streak by 1971 she was without a
human companion at all, in fact 1971 was a major year for Lassie as in a
seven episode arc she fell in love with a male dog and gave birth to a
litter of puppies. The show finished on CBS 12 September 1971 but
continued in Syndication for a further three years and towards the end of
the shows run Lassie again found herself with a human family, living on the
Holden ranch in
Solvang
,
California
.
There was also an animated
version called Lassie’s Rescue Rangers as well as a 1980’s revival
called The New Lassie. The series of course was based on the novel by Eric
Knight which in turn gave us the legendary MGM movie Lassie Come Home which
starred Elizabeth Taylor and Roddy McDowell.

LIFE OF LUXURY
USA / ABC / 1x60minute episode / 2003 (28 December)
Robin Leach special showing off how the other half lives. Regardless of how he got where he is, Leach's name seems to be synonymous
with extravagance, and doors that are permanently closed to the rest of us seem easily opened for him. He goes from having a conversation with Donald
Trump high above Manhattan to travelling to Richard Branson's exotic and all-inclusive private island resort. Sharon Osbourne happily reveals how
much her plastic surgery cost and even shows off her new man-made belly button, just as an exclusive high-roller suite in Las Vegas was readily open
to him.
