LINKSWITHIN THESE WALLS: CAUSE FOR CONCERN
SEASON ONE / EPISODE ONE / Broadcast 4 January 1974
Writer: David Butler / Director: Jack Reardon / Production Design: Bryan Bagge
Faye Boswell arrives as new governor of Stone Park, she is quickly thrown in at the deep end with two troublesome inmates. Martha Kyle, a prisoner on remand, causes a media storm by claiming ill treatment and Peggy who feels she deserves punishment for mistreating her children. Faye discovers that one is a cry for a help whilst the other is some more sinister altogether. Faye also learns that not all of her staff are happy about her appointment.
A strong opener with a few glimpses into Faye's personal life too. The episode is mainly concerned with introducing the main players of course and also pointing out how under funded the prison itself is. Amongst the guest stars is future Tomorrow Person Elizabeth Adare.
