£10k Holiday Home Episode 3 airs 21 Aug on ITV

In the third episode of £10k Holiday Home, Julia Bradbury has got the keys to her cottage and starts to realise what a tough task she has to get all the work done on budget. The house has no water or electricity, and needs work to the roof.

She also wants to put in a new staircase and knock down some walls. But with only around £3,000 left to spend, the enormity of the challenge hits home. Julia calls her friend, designer and salvage expert Max McMurdo, for help and together they decide what needs to be done to the Little Blue House.

Local builders are called in to quote for the work and Julia is shocked when she gets the quote for the electrics. She gives the go-ahead for the work she can afford and the team starts knocking down walls and removing the stairs.

Julia also visits Almeria in Southern Spain to meet Ivan who has bought a holiday home there and renovated it himself for just over £10K. She’s wowed by the views from his enviable roof terrace.

Back in the UK, Max’s challenge to build a holiday home on wheels for under £5,000 is underway and he visits a Norfolk couple who have given a standard Ford Transit an incredible arts and crafts transformation, turning it into a campervan for a total of £7,000.

Airdate: Tuesday 21 August 2018 from 7.30pm-8.00pm on ITV.
