Eighteen-year-old Millie has a baby of her own and 25-year-old Chloe is house hunting with her new boyfriend. Meanwhile, Luke has something really big to tell the family, while Sue and Noel face the biggest decision of their lives: will they have another baby or will they decide that 22 kids is enough?

As this amazing family deal with all the challenges that are thrown at them, they always find a way to have fun, whether it’s a trip around the Highlands in two noisy camper vans, an impromptu game of hide and seek in every corner of their 10-bed home, training the mischievous bulldogs for a sausagecatching contest, barbecues on the beach or finally being able to bring the whole extended brood together for a joyful double christening to welcome Bonnie and Heidie, the newest members of this great big family. It’s all change at the Radford house.

As one child moves back home, another moves out — which upsets the careful balance of who has their own bedroom and who doesn’t in this rambling 10-bed house. There are never enough bedrooms to keep everyone happy, but a very special visitor cheers the whole family up, and gives Sue a chance to reflect on her own very special life story.

Noel is busy looking for new premises for his booming pie business. Luke has come home from the RAF, which didn’t turn out quite as he’d hoped. But the person causing the most upheaval is 25-year-old Chloe. Chloe is in love. She and boyfriend Jake have been going out for seven months and she’s got a big announcement to make ….

Brace yourself, Noel! No, it’s not a new baby, it’s just that she has decided to move in with Jake — which triggers fierce competition for her old bedroom. Will it go to brother Luke or sister Katie? Noel and Sue decide to get each child to make a personal pitch for the precious room. It’s a tense moment when Noel makes the announcement.

Twelve-year-old Max, the family’s resident inventor, decides to build a device to help Sue with the daily mountain of laundry. It’s a bold idea and a lot of fun, but will it actually help or hinder?

Meanwhile, Sue is heading north to pick up her mum Christine, who hasn’t seen her grandchildren for over a year because of Covid. First though, it’s a chance for them to reminisce about Sue’s childhood — she was adopted as a baby and grew up in a happy home before meeting a lad from the next street called Noel… and the rest is history.
